MagicQ Remote App - Use with a Connect or PC wing

  1. Ensure Setup, View Settings, Multi-Console:
    • Enable remote control =Yes
    • Enable remote access = Yes
  1. The computer (used as a console) is hardwired to a Wi-Fi router.
  2. The App is on an IOS or Android device connected wirelessly to the WIFI router.
  3. You will need to set up your Wi-Fi router LAN to use an IP scheme of 2.0.0.X, or 10.0.0.X. Do not mix; use only 2. or 10.
  4. The Wi-Fi may act as a DHCP server, assigning IP addresses to connected wireless devices. Fixed IP's are best.
    • Turn off firewalls and antivirus on the computer you are using as a console (you always have it set as this, as it will never be used to connect to the internet)
    • Turn off wireless networking on the computer (you always have this off as any networking for the remote app would be via a wireless router)
    • Set the IP address on the LAN card of the computer being used with the wing to a 2.0.0.X subnet (255.0.0.0) or a 10.0.0.X scheme.
  1. If this is a MagicQ Connect, then the LAN card is built into the MagicQ Connect. On other systems, you will need a LAN card or port, or a USB-to-network device.
    • Open MagicQ software: Setup, View Settings, Network. Set the IP address as 2.0.0.x and subnet as 255.0.0; this should be the same IP address as the LAN card (NIC or USB to Network interface) for the computer running MagicQ
    • Test the connection by pinging the remote IOS device IP from the console. On the command line of the console, type ... (3 periods) followed by the IP address of the other device to be pinged and then hit "enter." If there is no reply, recheck connections and firewalls.
