Consoles - Updating the heads.all file

  1. Download the heads.all file found here
  2. Copy it to a USB stick and insert the stick in the console.
  3. Go to Setup, View Settings, File Manager, USB Drive. 
  4. Locate the file and press the copy button. Select the heads.all file. 
  5. Select Hard Drive. Select heads folder (darker gray). 
  6. Copy inside heads folder by selecting the "." 
  7. Reset or Restart the console. Setup, Hold Shift, select reset.

Consoles - updating individual head(s)

  1. Download the individual head(s) supplied by ChamSys.
  2. Copy to a USB stick and insert stick in the console.
  3. Go to Setup, View Settings, File Manager, USB Drive.
  4. Locate the file and select it.
  5. MagicQ will install the file and rebuild the head index.

Computer Wings - updating the heads.all file

    While your MagicQ program is running, click on the “Tools” menu (top left), and select “Update Heads”. This should then automatically download the latest heads.all file and recreate the head index to update the list of personalities. You will have to exit out of the program and open it again and the new personalities will be updated in the heads index

   OR

  1. Close MagicQ.
  2. Download the heads.all file found here.
  3. Copy it to C:\Program Files\Chamsys Ltd\MagicQ PC\show\heads
  4. Restart MagicQ. The heads file will be expanded ready for use.

Computer Wings - updating individual head(s)

  1. Close MagicQ.
  2. Download the heads file. 
  3. Copy it to C:\Program Files\Chamsys Ltd\MagicQ PC\show\heads or if on a Mac Documents/MagicQ/show/heads
  4. Restart MagicQ. The heads file will be expanded ready for use.

Notes

  • The personality file is updated every day, online at around 7 PM EDT
  • The personality library is fully updated from two files - heads.all and icons.all
  • The icons.all updates gobo/beam icons. Icons.all is included with each release of MagicQ, so is not normally needed when updating personalities. Should you need to update it at any other time see Updating Icons.all file  - All Systems.
