Inhibitive Submasters - Group Masters
In Magic Q you can make a playback act as a "Master" for several things. Playbacks can be set to be an Intensity master for select fixtures, Size Master, Speed Master, Group Intensity master, and Intensity master to 200%
Select Fixtures Intensity Master:
- with a clear Programmer, Select the fixtures you would like the Intensity master to effect.
- Give the Fixtures just an Intensity value, IE @Full
- Press "Record" and Choose an empty playback
- Triple Tap the "S Button for that playback
- Go to the "Function" tab
- and set "Cuestack Is an Intensity Master" to "YES"
- You should now see the playback it created has an "IM" after the PB# indicating it is an Intensity Master.
Size Master:
- with a clear Programmer, Select the fixtures you would like the Intensity master to effect.
- Modify the Attributes you would like to have the Size Master control, IE for Pan/Tilt choose a position
- Be sure that ONLY the attributes you want to control the size of are in the programmer
- Press "Record" and Choose an empty playback
- Triple Tap the "S" button for that playback,
- Go to the "Function" tab
- and set "Cue stack Is an Size Master" to "YES"
- You should now see the playback it created has an "SZM" after the PB# indicating it is an Intensity Master.
Speed Master:
- with a clear Programmer, Select the fixtures you would like the Intensity master to effect.
- Modify the Attributes you would like to have the Size Master control, IE for Pan/Tilt choose a position
- Be sure that ONLY the attributes you want to control the size of are in the programmer
- Press "Record" and Choose an empty playback
- Triple Tap the "S" button for that playback,
- Go to the "Function" tab
- and set "Cue stack Is an Speed Master" to "YES"
- You should now see the playback it created has an "SPM" after the PB# indicating it is an Intensity Master.
Group Intensity Master:
- with a clear Programmer, Select the Group you would like the Intensity master to effect.
- Leave the Programmer clear so only the fixtures are selected
- Press "Record" and Choose an empty playback
- You should now see the playback it created has an "IM" after the PB# indicating it is an Intensity Master.
- This will also name the playback as "GM" then the name of that group
Group Size and Speed Masters & Group:
- Once you create a Group master using the steps above, you can modify that into a Group size or speed master using the steps below.
- Triple Tap the "S" button for that playback,
- Go to the "Function" tab
- and set the playback as a Size or Speed master as outlined above
- then set "Cue Stack is an Intensity Master" to "NO"
- the "Group Attributes" field should now say "ALL"
- You can use this Field to choose what Attribute set the master effects
- You should now see the playback it created has an "SPM" or "SZM" after the PB# indicating it is Size or Speed Master
Intensity Master to 200%:
This option can be used to over size the intensity of a master, this can allow you to override Intensity FX by Maxing out the intensity channel to 200% it's actual value
