QuickQ - Colour Mixing - how to and tips
Set a default BLACK
When a fixture is turned on in QuickQ , the fixture uses the default values from the personality file patched, for all the emitters the fixture has (assuming you have made the choice in settings to use all emitters). This will result in a color for white that may not be the white you desire - so:
- use the color wheel in the color window to adjust the color to the white you desire to become the new default.
- then, hit record and select the default pallet
Then, for this show, this modified default pallet white will be used whenever you first turn on a fixture. We recommend doing this for all the fixtures in your show so that they all use the same white from this Set a default white.
Mixing Color with emitters (input mixing) compared to mixing color with the color wheel (output mixing)
If you use the color faders in the color window manually this manipulates the emitters of the fixture and is input mixing. This is different to using the color wheel which is output mixing. Using input mixing, the same color can be mixed using different combinations of these faders. The color achieved may not always be the brightest possible version of this color. This is indicated by the Value Fader being reduced to less than 100%. To get the brightest option on stage of the mixed color, simply choose the 100% button on the top of the Value Fader to move back to a brighter option of the color using a different mix as if you had used the color picker wheel.
