Feature Note - MagicQ console and wing working lights

ChamSys has determined that some recent working lights that have shipped with MagicQ Consoles and Wings between the 1st July 2017 and 31st October 2017 may have had incorrect resistors fitted to them. This affects working lights which use the single multicolour LED.

The incorrect resistor value can in some circumstances cause the working light driver on the console itself to blow, causing the working lights to not function on the console.

Below shows the difference between the single multicolour and dual LED  working lights. If you have a lamp with 2 separate LEDs this is  not affected.
If you have the single multicolour LED working light then ChamSys advise checking the resistors fitted inside the working light.
If you have the Single multicolour LED working light the resistor can easily be checked by removing the 2 x screws behind the XLR connector and remove the cap behind the XLR connector. An incorrect value 39ohm resistor has been fitted on some of these working lamps instead of 100ohms. This is the resistor fitted to the center pin of the XLR connector.  The below image shows both types of resistor and how to identify if the working light has the 39ohm resistor incorrectly fitted.
ChamSys are providing free of charge replacement resistors for distributors to correct the problem
ChamSys advise before this is done to run the working light in white only and not to use the Blue or Both LED options in MagicQ for the working light.

Please contact support@chamsys.co.uk for further details and instruction on how to change the resistor in the working light.
