QuickQ - Updating Fixture Library or Adding an Individual Fixture to the Library
Updating the Fixture Library
When you patch a fixture, the fixture is copied from the fixture library to your show file.
So to start with the freshest fixtures, you need an up-to-date fixture library!
We update the fixture library Online every day at around 7 PM EDT.
It is a separate file from the console software. While the latest software does contain a fixture library, it will be out of date already as it is the library on the date the software was uploaded made on our website.
- Download the latest fixture library, the "heads.all" found here
- Copy it to a USB stick and insert the stick in the QuickQ console or QuickQ Rack/Din.
- Select the menu button on the top right, then select Files
- Select Install Fixture Library File from the Files menu.
- Select the "heads.all" file on the USB drive.
Updating a fixture in an existing show file in QuickQ is not possible.
You will need to start a new show file and re-patch and re-program your show. Alternatively, send a copy of your show file to either [email protected] if you are in the USA or for the rest of the world, [email protected]
Adding individual Fixture Files(s) to the console
If you have been sent an individual ".hed" file (perhaps you requested we build a fixture for you), then use this method. It will add the fixture to the console and you can then use it to patch in a new show.
- Download the individual fixture(s) file "fixturename.hed" supplied by ChamSys
- Copy to a USB stick and insert the stick in the console.
- Select the menu button on the top right, then select Files
- Select Install Fixture File from the Files menu.
- Select the file fixture "fixturename.hed" file on the USB drive.
