Compact console fails to boot after installing new software

Applies to MQ40, MQ40N, MQ60 and MQ70 old model only

If the installer is corrupt or damaged or incomplete and MagicQ fails to boot after the upgrade, take the following steps.

  1. Power off the console
  2. Hold down the Go button on PB2 and the Stop keys on PB1 and PB3.
  3. While holding these 3 keys power on the unit and continue to hold them down.

The desk will then recover to an older version of MagicQ and a further update with a better file can be attempted.

Note – this only helps if it’s a software boot problem. If this is a firmware upgrade problem then failure may lead to bricking the console: In this case, the console will need a return to base for reprogramming.

Newer consoles have advanced checking of the installer before running so don’t have this function (MQ80/MQ500)
